This great looking watch is vintage circa 1940's, the Art Retro period. It's fashioned from 14k rose gold and I believe the watch band is a later addition as it looks more recent. The watch was marketed through the famous and upscale New York store Udall and Ballou and the watch maker is Mathey Tissot, it's a 17 jewel multifort. The face is white/silver colored and has a bit of slight pinkish cast in two areas. The face measures 1 1/4 X 7/8 inches. The watch band is stamped Hirsch Reptile 15 and also Flatline and measures 7 1/2 inches in total. There is a very small touch mark on the side of the watch which indicates it's gold content and it was also tested. The retail replacement value is $1500.00 and the independent appraisal is included when purchased. The watch is in very good condition and runs well. It has a few scratches on the back that can be polished out, it looks as if someone tried to open it and scratched it instead. It opens by sliding the two side panels forward. |
